‘Radish’ is the word at the end of the sixth week of the 2013 garden season. Big bunches of French Breakfast Radish<\/a>,\u00a0Pink Beauty Radish<\/a>,\u00a0Cherry Belle Radish<\/a>, and a couple Short Top Icicle White Radish<\/a>. Getting an early jump on preparing the garden and planting was a good thing, as last year at this same time<\/a> plants were nowhere near as mature or ready to harvest. And timing was perfect for my parents, visiting from Minnesota, to enjoy in the snappy, spicy crop!<\/p>\n

The weather has run the full spectrum the past week – from low 30’s on Sunday night\/Memorial Day Monday morning to low 90’s later in the week. Scorching dry for a few days, then drenched in rain the next. Whatever the extremes, it seems to be averaging out and helping the neat rows of vegetables to grow wildly, and the tomatoes plants rapidly climbing within their cages.<\/p>\n

Compare the garden this year (above) with the same time last year<\/a>.
